Working with our Community
Diamond employ at least two young apprentices each year, helping them learn through a combination of structured on-site training along with attending a local college. During their employment they work alongside our skilled staff giving them valuable hands on experience whilst working towards their level 2 NVQ. Following completion of the level 2 NVQ they are encouraged to stay on at college and achieve further qualifications.
We review their courses regularly to ensure that they are focused in the right areas so it meets the needs of you, the client and the individual. We believe strongly in giving our young trainees the support and opportunities in education and we are fully committed in helping them make a successful transition into employment. Each of our apprentices are allocated to one experienced decorator who will act as their mentor throughout the scheme.
We are always on the lookout for experienced painters and decorators to work in all areas of the business. All of our professional decorators are encouraged to gain qualifications over and above their basic NVQ training and the majority have completed numerous qualifications during their employment at Diamond.
Some of the mandatory training we provide are:
- CSCS card scheme
- City and Guilds / NVQ to Advanced Craft Level
- IPAF qualified to use mechanical access equipment
- PASMA trained to erect tower scaffolds
- Emergency first aid at work training
